Transition from Christmas to Winter Decor in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1 – Remove the RED!  Red screams Christmas, right? Simply removing it will make you feel like you are making progress towards a wintery décor as our friend Andrea did at mycarolinafarmhouse. Here was her beautiful Christmas look.

Look how easily she transitioned her mudroom just by removing the red decor. Isn’t it beautiful?

Step 2 – REPURPOSE! Our dear and talented friend Tina, over at velveteenandgracega, did just that for a quick and inexpensive switch-over . She told us she was able to re-purpose nearly every accent she had into a winter vibe.  And what a beautiful winter vibe it is!

Look at all the accent pieces Tina was able to keep! That’s the beauty of neutral decor as Gail with lovemyhouseblog said “it slides right past Christmas and saves you lots of time” and money! Amen, Gail!

Step 3 – Bring in NATURAL elements. Feel free to keep your tree and greenery up. Just remove the ornaments and you are on your way to a wonderful wintry look.

I couldn’t think of a finer example than what Carleen at prairiewooddesign did in her gorgeous dining room. Bare trees, fresh greenery and pine cones make a stunning winter statement. Oh and candles always add warmth and style… best of all, most of us already have them in our staging boxES! *smile*

Tina didn’t stop with her entryway, she kept her winter vibe going in her kitchen and breakfast room. What natural elements do you spy?

I just had to share one more picture for Inspo, we are after all Dogs N Decor! I would call this pure perfection!! Stacey at wilshire_collections calls this her cozy winter vibe. Stacey’s use of natural elements, like cotton stems (and loose cotton), fire logs, greenery and pine cones is brilliant! Oh and we can’t forget about her sweet girl, Bailey! Isn’t she beautiful?
